Hope:

What is a gal supposed to do when her car breaks down, her grandmother dies, her dog gets cancer, and her husband runs off with a blonde to Texas?

Write a country song, of course.

Like most people, Hope MacGregor endured the year 2020. A season of hurt and loss descended without much respite. While cleaning out a closet of her soon-to-be ex-husband’s belongings, Hope ran across her old guitar from her days at West Point. That Guild guitar had been cracked and glued back together, been dragged along on several field training exercises . . . and it had been packed away for far, far too long. She opened the case, tuned it up, and prayed it wouldn’t crack again anytime soon. It didn’t.

Hope’s first love was music. She began writing her own material at the age of fifteen and playing with a small band of friends in her corn-fed, midwestern hometown. However, the Army came calling and Hope answered. In 2007, she reported to the United States Military Academy, and in 2012 she pinned on her wings as an OH-58D Kiowa Warrior helicopter pilot. After eight years of active duty service and one tour to Afghanistan, she hung up her uniform.

The road back to music has been a bumpy one. But since cracking open that Guild’s case a few years ago, Hope’s guitar collection – and song collection – has grown. She’s made a home in Jackson, Tennessee as a singer-songwriter, finding the small town’s love of live music, and support for local musicians, a deep well to draw from. You can find her performing most weekends in Jackson, Memphis, Nashville, or back in central Illinois. And if you really want to get to know Hope, just meet her beloved labrador, Lucy.

Hope’s first full-length album, the Matriarch, is set to debut this year. The album includes twelve original songs. A few classic country tracks like Make It Sweet and Dog, Dishes, Laundry, feel right at home in Hope’s body of work. But since moving to West Tennessee, Hope has gotten in touch with her darker, bluesier side which shines through her songs like Jealous Kind and Never Loved You. Much of this album, though, features the thing Hope does best: taking a little heartbreak and turning it into a toe-tapping, slightly sassy, tongue-in-cheek banger. Get ready to roll your windows down and jam along to Screwed, Love Bomb, and Good Guy Luck. Finally, the title track to this album, the Matriarch, features the kind of storyline everyone loves: a stolen necklace, hidden treasure, and deep family drama. the Matriarch will be available on all streaming platforms on October 28th, 2023.

The Shoemakers: The Shoemakers are an independent country music duo and high school sweethearts from Paris, Tennessee, and are based in Jackson, TN. They have been influenced by artists such as Lee Ann Womack, Brooks & Dunn, Alan Jackson, Alison Krauss, Miranda Lambert, and Chris Stapleton. Their music is very important to them, and they want people to experience their convictions, humor and love through their songs. They are always writing, but most song ideas come together after their kids are asleep and down for the night. They set out to write things that make them feel something, even if the song itself is rather lighthearted in nature, it must have some depth. Jackson has been an incredible place for them to grow and find their sound. They are very inspired by songwriters from the surrounding area, such as Jonathan Singleton and Jessi Alexander. They have been writing and performing since 2020 and are looking forward to connecting with new fans this year and releasing new songs!

Izzy: Izzy Arthurs is a singer-songwriter with musical influences of Stevie Nicks, Lorde, Kacey Musgraves, and Taylor Swift. You’ll find her behind a piano, writing with her acoustic guitar close by, or playing a living room concert for her friends. A West Tennessee native, she loves her hometown community and playing local venues.
